In February 2018 we piloted a new service; Contemplative worship inspired by Taize, held in the beautiful space of Holy Sepulchre Church in central Northampton.
It was aimed at young people, but all were welcome and there was a mix of generations and traditions represented on the night.
This evening was a chance to enter into a beautiful space, tap into creativity, feel a sense of the sacred and find refreshment.
There was silence, music, movement and stillness. The theme was Transfiguration.
It was hoped that it could be a time away from the pressures of the world, where visitors could be truly themselves and meet with the God who loves us just as we are.
Here are some photos to give a flavour of the event.
The Team have decided to launch Sacred Space for all in the Archdeaconry of Northampton, meeting 4 times a year:
Each service will be celebrating a liturgical/season focal point and there will be silence, song, meditation, listening, stillness, and creative, active worship (probably for about 45 minutes), followed by food and drink!
The plan for the year is as follows:
16th September 2018 Ordinary Time (focus on the Cross)
9th December 2018 Advent
17th March 2019 Lent
2nd June 2019 Thy Kingdom Come
Each service will be at 6.30pm in the beautiful and very special space in Holy Sepulchre Church, Northampton.
We would love to welcome others to join the planning group and share their ideas and expertise so if you or someone you know is interested, please get in touch,
